Council Members Assist in St. Vincent de Paul Home Repair;
Highway Clean-Up Coming in April

A highway clean-up event in planned for mid April  (after Lent and Easter activities are complete).  An e-mail and sign up sheet will be distributed in a few weeks.

As far as community service projects go, Jim Carse, Chris Ferriola, and Grand Knight Victor Mendoza assisted in a local St. Vincent de Paul home repair project on Saturday February 10.  The St. Vincent de Paul Society (SSVdP) assists "in-need" parishioners over the entire diocese with basic home repair issues, and relies on groups such as the Knights to help complete these projects.

Many thanks to Mr. Al Gremp who organizes these SSVdP projects for the Austin diocese--sometimes completing them by himself when needed.

More local assistance projects may be coming up soon.  Be prepared to help out your brothers and sisters in need.  Remember, a little bit of your time can go a long way.

Knights of Columbus: Day of the Unborn Child, March 25

The Day of Unborn Child is an international program held annually on March 25, the feast of the Annunciation of the Lord. Focusing on the pro-life meaning of the Annunciation, councils hold pro-life prayer services. In 2003, the Supreme Council sponsored a Holy Hour in St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut, that was broadcast live by the Eternal Word Television Network. (Read from the Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World Gaudium et Spes, 27.)
